Choosing a laptop is not an easy task. Especially for users that are not that computer savvy. Some school recommends MACs and others PC. For those MAC users, have no fear, you can have the best of both worlds. With the latest MAC, with the Intel processor, you can install Apple's "Boot Camp" or "Parallels" which will create a virtual environment for you to install Windows XP, Vista or any other operating system (OS). You can boot up in MAC and then start your Windows OS and move back and forth in both environments. MACs are very stable, but expensive. PCs running Windows are less stable, but more affordable.
My recommendation for a good laptop is the IBM Lenovo. They are very stable laptops with hard drive shock protection, screen protection, and biometric authentication (login using finger prints or facial recognition). My personal laptop ranking by Manufacturer: - IBM Lenovo ThinkPad
- HP Compaq
Dell What to look for in a good laptop: - Speed - 1.6 GHz or better
- Processor - Intel Core 2 DUO or AMD ATHLON or better
- Space - 60GB or better (SATA)
- Memory - 1 GB or better
- Wireless - (a/b/g/n)
- Camera - optional
- Biometric - Facial or fingerprint (good for securing your laptop and authentication to applications)
